KIRKPATRICK–Marketing Strategist & Provocateur
R. L. (Kirk) Kirkpatrick has worked in marketing, merchandising
and product development throughout his career concentrating on direct
commerce for the past 20 years. He has held senior management positions
in marketing for major corporations including HSN (division of InterActive
Corp.) as Vice President of New Business Development, Discovery Communications
as Vice President/General Manager of Commerce at Discovery Health
and The Franklin Mint as Director of Collectibles and New Product
Concepts. His work as a marketing and merchandising consultant
includes assignments with AAA Mid-Atlantic, Aetna/US Healthcare (founding
merchant InteliHealth Healthy Home catalog), Lenox Collections, Paralyzed
Veterans of America and The Company Store. Product development
assignments included L. L. Bean and Christian Dior Art de la Table.
He earned an MBA in marketing from New York University and a BA
in economics from University of Pennsylvania.

RICHARD SCHOLL–Creative Director & Strategic Translator
Richard J. Scholl is a creative director and marketing consultant with
more than 30 years of project management, copywriting and marketing
experience. Before forming his own firm, he was copywriter and manager of
direct response marketing for a division of NW Ayer, advertising director
and product manager for the American Society of CLU, creative director and
copy chief for The Franklin Mint and vice president and creative director
for a Philadelphia advertising agency whose clients included Bell
Atlantic, CIGNA, CoreStates, Meridian Bank, PSFS, The Franklin Institute
and the World Affairs Council.
Richard has won numerous awards including
the John Caples International Award. Author of several books, Richard has
taught marketing workshops at the Wharton Small Business Development
Center, marketing at Villanova University and writing courses at West
Chester University.
He has a BA in Writing and an MA in English from The
Pennsylvania State University.
BETH
MCLURE–Branding Strategist & Advertising Whiz
Beth McLure is a creative director, with deep experience in TV, radio, print
and building consumer brands. Before founding her own firm, she was
executive creative director and member of the board of directors at NW Ayer
in New York. During her tenure at Ayer, she was an award-winning writer and
global creative director for Avon, launching their first worldwide campaign. She
also spent ten years as creative director on AT&T, writing and overseeing
more than a hundred commercials.
Since 2001 she has worked with Weight Watchers, Saks Fifth Avenue, Real Simple
Magazine, Johnson & Johnson Soothing Naturals, Cortaid, Ortho Pharmaceuticals
and Organic Style.
Beth is a member of the New York Bar and an alumnus of the BMI Musical Theater
Workshop. Her musical, Girls Are From Pluto, Boys Are From Uranus,
was performed Off-Broadway. She is a card-carrying soccer mom.
JAN DERUITER–Electronic Media Director & Iconoclast
Back in 1996, Jan Deruiter launched his own firm with a focus on
Internet Health sites developing and presenting health content through interactive
features for various companies including InteliHealth, Discovery Health, and
their content providers Johns Hopkins, Aetna and Harvard Medical School. Since
then, it has evolved into a full-service Web firm designing and creating web
sites along with supporting back-end applications across all industries.
Companies that have benefited from his work include AAA Mid-Atlantic, American Hospital Association, George Washington
University, LubertAdler, Payless ShoeSource, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
along with dozens of its programs.
Jan learned his trade at Drexel University.
He competes with his KCBS-sanctioned BBQ
team after earning a Bachelor's degree in Barbeque Sciences from Greasehouse
University (Pitmasters College).
